Residential
The Henry

The Henry is a magnificent mixed-use building on Foss Waterway that blends in perfectly with Tacoma's character while bringing new life to the city's historic waterfront. Scott and his team at BCRA meticulously navigated a challenging planning and permit process to deliver this impressive development with breathtaking views.
Featuring 161 units, ranging from cozy studios to spacious two-bedroom apartments with dens, The Henry also boasts a community room with a welcoming pub-like atmosphere, a second-floor outdoor plaza, and a rooftop deck complete with a dog run. Additionally, the beautifully landscaped waterfront plaza encourages pedestrian activity, enlightens visitors, and links to nearby landmarks such as the Museum of Glass and the waterfront esplanade.
Albers Mill Lofts

During his time at BCRA, Scott served as the project architect for the renovation of Albers Mill Lofts. This project was part of a larger downtown revitalization effort that included the construction of the Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Art Museum, as well as the renovation of Union Station. The objective for this adaptive reuse of an abandoned cereal mill into a multifamily facility was to honor the building's historic significance while taking into account its impact on the nearby Museum of Glass and view corridor. To achieve this, a new addition was added to conceal the structural bracing required for seismic safety, while also enhancing the urban and industrial theme. The renovation team made every effort to preserve the original elements of the building, such as the patina on the brick, heavy timbers, and signage.
Chelsea Heights
At BCRA, I had the privilege of working alongside the talented design team responsible for creating the Chelsea Heights mid-rise building. This remarkable structure boasts 78 units and showcases stunning design elements, including a beautiful interior atrium, an elevated open roofline, and the thoughtful use of natural materials to achieve an impressive visual impact. Moreover, the building's internal gutter and downspout system has been ingeniously designed to create a soothing atmosphere, reminiscent of the peaceful sounds of a babbling creek during rainfall.
Hanna Heights

Located in Tacoma's Theatre District, the client envisioned an exquisite mid-rise boutique condo community that pays homage to the district's vibrant history, culture, and vibe. During my time at BCRA, I was fortunate enough to contribute to the development of Hanna Heights - a luxurious residence comprising 35 units, including 1 and 2-bedroom options. The building and its windows offer breathtaking views of Puget Sound, while the exterior boasts an impressive visual impact on all those who pass by.
McCormick Heights &
McCormick View
During his time as Principal Architect for Innova Architects, Scott served as the lead designer and Architect of Record for Innova's McCormick View & McCormick Heights, opening in the Spring of 2021 & 2023. The objective was to create a sense of community, and this was achieved by constructing small structures with 4 units per floor, making each unit a corner suite featuring oversized windows framing views of downtown Tacoma and Mt. Rainier, featuring open-concept floor plans.
The corner suites were designed to provide stunning views and maximize space with 9'6 ceilings. Despite the high-density nature of the prototype project, it was adapted to two tight sites with minimal basement changes, resulting in increased construction efficiency. The projects offer a range of amenities such as a dog park, garage parking, and bike storage, making them truly remarkable in their ability to provide outstanding dense urban multifamily living, even in seemingly undevelopable sites.
